Papped lizarding in the Blue Mountains...post-climb, full-power nature vibes

I nearly didn’t make it to the Blueies - at one point it seemed I'd have to make a choice between ConFest or climbing, till it dawned on me that perhaps I can have it all...even with a sprained foot!

Despite still having some pain and swelling in my foot, I could’ve happily spent a few more days in the mountains, but 42 hours there with 2 mornings of climbing will certainly do for now

Feeling very blessed, and pretty insignificant amongst all the wondrous nature here. A sweet (re)introduction to outdoor climbing. The only other time I've climbed outdoors was in 2011 to Portland and the Peak District in the UK. Thank you Chad for sorting this trip and James for 8 years ago... intrepid adventure magic weavers

And I'm pretty happy about my relatively low-impact, high-adventure travel, jumping in with others' pre-existing travel plans, on this rather epic trip from Byron to ConFest to the Blueies and back again, which looked a lot like this:

Hitched 670km / 8hrs Byron Bay - Central Coast
Flight* 850km / 4hrs Central Coast - Moulamein, for ConFest
Return flight 850km / 4hrs Moulamein - Central Coast
Ride-share 60km / 1hr Central Coast - Berowra
Train 130km / 3hrs Berowra - Mount Victoria, for Blueies
Ride-share 900km / 11hrs Mount Victoria - Byron Bay, my current home from home

*4 seater light aircraft that weighs about the same as a car, and which I’ve been informed emits approx 40% less carbon emissions than driving the same distance

Hitching and vehicle-pooling FTW!

Yes I'm a geek at times, and geek love is a wonderful thing donchaknow?!
